Tahona Celebrates Mezcal Week With Daily Specials And Events Beginning September 10
Mezcal bar and kitchen Tahona in Old Town announces a week-long celebration honoring its favorite Mexican spirit via Mezcal Week taking place Tuesday, September 10 through Sunday, September 15.
From a special Taco Tuesday to the launch of Tahona’s Mezcal Society and weekend brunch with live music, guests will have plenty of opportunities to taste what makes mezcal and Tahona—one of the country’s few proper mezcal tasting rooms–so special.
Kick-off Tuesday
Festivities kick off Tuesday, September 10 with the launch of Tahona’s new Taco Omakase series, to occur each subsequent Tuesday and consisting of a specialty chef’s choice taco tasting menu crafted by Executive Chef Adrian Villareal, who has cooked around the world including at famed Noma in Denmark.
On Wednesday, September 11, Tahona will launch its Mezcal Society via an event from 8 to 11 p.m. with tickets available on Eventbrite and at the door. Guests can expect several samples of mezcal, a chance to sign up for Tahona’s Mezcal Society at a special rate, and the launch of new brand La Reina Raicilla.
Spooky Mezcal Cocktail
Throughout the rest of Mezcal Week, guests can enjoy a Friday the 13th spooky mezcal cocktail and pop-up complimentary mezcal samples that will continue into Saturday, September 14; and on Sunday, September 15 a mezcal-themed weekend brunch with live music from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. as well as a blind tasting from 6 to 7 p.m., a live Spanish guitar set by Sol Y Sambra from 6 to 9 p.m. and late night happy hour including 25% off mezcals from 8 p.m. onward.
Mezcal Week is a nationally recognized event that commemorates the culture and history of mezcal. During these days, guests can also enjoy Tahona’s menu of modern cuisine with Oaxacan influence, including gourmet tacos and creative craft cocktails inspired by Mexican culture and traditions.
