Your Summer Guide to Temecula Wine Country

Summer in Temecula Valley Wine Country doesn’t sneak up on you – it arrives with live music, poolside cocktails, and enough rosé to carry you through to Labor Day. Whether you’re planning a day trip or a full weekend out of San Diego, there’s no shortage of reasons to head north this season.

Poolside at Bottaia

The Pool Café + Cocktail Bar at Bottaia Winery is officially back. Lunch and refreshing cocktails served poolside, all season long. Exactly the kind of setup that makes a summer afternoon feel like it’s going exactly right.

Something New at Truffle Pig

Truffle Pig Winery has opened a new tasting room, and with it, a members-only lounge called The Pig Pen. The lounge rotates through craft whiskeys and cocktails – a welcome addition if wine isn’t your only focus.

The Case for Rosé Right Now

June is National Rosé Month, and Temecula’s winemakers make a strong case for celebrating it properly. Drawing from Mediterranean and Rhône varieties like Grenache, Syrah, Sangiovese, Primitivo, and Cabernet Franc, the range here runs from bone-dry, pale pink Provençal-style pours to lightly sweet and effervescent.

A few worth putting on your radar: Robert Renzoni Vineyards Lyric Rosé, Wilson Creek Winery Rosé of Grenache, Danza del Sol Winery Solana Rosé, and Wiens Cellars Pink Crowded.

Live Music All Summer Long

The concert calendars are packed. Thornton Winery’s Champagne Jazz Series runs May through October and is one of the most extensive outdoor concert series in the valley – Kenny G headlines on June 20.

Wilson Creek Winery keeps things going nearly every weekend, from casual Friday Night Late Nights to ticketed country shows with names like Craig Campbell and Clay Walker on the bill. And South Coast Winery’s Rhythm on the Vine series brings a full jazz lineup to Sunday evenings through the season.

See you there!

Temecula Wine Country is about an hour north of San Diego, and summer is its best season. Pack a blanket, grab a reservation, and make a day of it.
