Valentine’s Day Celebration To Honor 95 Years Of Loving Memories At Belmont Park

Since 1925, San Diego’s iconic beachfront amusement park and boardwalk has been a special place to create nostalgic memories – from first dates and first kisses, to proposals.

For 95 years, locals and tourists have fallen in love at Belmont Park. In fact, one notable love story is of the parents of the beloved San Diego TV, radio producer and on-air personality, Little Tommy Sablan.

Tommy’s parents, Raymond and Rosa, (photo accompanying the release) sparked love on their romantic beachfront playdate at Belmont Park on November 20, 1948. With love in their hearts, they cozied up for a picture on a bench in front of the historic Giant Dipper roller coaster. Two days later, on November 22, 1948, they got married in Reno, NV, and shared years of loving memories together.

In honor of 95 years of sweet memories like that of Raymond and Rosa, Cannonball, a rooftop sushi and coastal cuisine restaurant on the Mission Beach boardwalk at Belmont Park, is hosting its annual Valentine’s Day dinner. Cannonball invites guests to share beachfront romance on Friday, February 14, from 4pm to close. Cannonball will offer a four-course meal, plus a choice of any 14oz beer, OR choice of red, white or sparkling house wine for $90 per couple.

The acoustic sounds of Latin guitar by Israel Maldonado will fill the air from 5 to 8pm. Wine and sake specials will also be available along with the regular Cannonball dinner menu. Reservations are highly recommended (limited space available). The award-winning Cannonball sushi and coastal cuisine rooftop restaurant is located on the Mission Beach boardwalk at Belmont Park at 3105 Ocean Front Walk, San Diego, CA 92109.

Belmont Park has been San Diego’s iconic beachfront amusement park and boardwalk since 1925. For more information on Belmont Park, or to make a reservation for the Valentine’s Day dinner at Cannonball, click here.
