Valle Food And Wine Festival Announces All-Star Line-Up Of Chefs On Saturday, October 5, 2019
The 3rd annual Valle Food & Wine Festival, hosted by celebrity chefs Nancy Silverton and Javier Plascencia, returns to Valle de Guadalupe, the hottest new wine-travel destination in the west, on Saturday, October 5, 2019 with a stellar list of over 40 award-winning culinary talents from both sides of the United States-Mexico border.
Promoting and celebrating a bountiful region
The festival is unique in drawing a lineup of top chefs from as far as Mexico City and New
York City to promote and celebrate the bounty of the region and the cuisine and wines of Baja California, both now being recognized world-wide.
“I fell in love with the Valle de Guadalupe while cooking a dinner there two summers ago,” says Nancy Silverton. “I knew I wanted to come back–and to give back–to this place. By the end of an amazing weekend under the stars in this magical place, Javier, Carolynn, and I had decided to start a festival.”
The passionate power of this trio made the festival‘s first and second years an enormous success, and just two years later, the Valle Food & Wine Festival is the most anticipated and influential food and wine event in Mexico, attracting a broad range of talent and attendees eager to visit and explore this rich wine region, a mere two hours from the border.
A showcase of the best of Baja’s food, drinks, and entertainment
Guests sample foods cooked in a wide-open field over open fires, barrel smokers and Caja Chinas, exemplifying the rustic-chic style and traditions of the region. In addition to dishes from a star-studded line-up of chefs, the festival showcases over 20 of the best Baja wineries, local craft breweries, and hand-made cocktails.
The day-into-evening event includes live music and dancing, artisan vendors, mezcal tastings, inspiring talks, live painting, and a charity spin-the-wheel benefiting Corazón de Vida Foundation, a U.S.-based non-profit organization that provides life-changing support for orphaned and abandoned children in Baja California.
Transportation from the United States is streamlined for ticket holders with transportation options from San Diego and Tijuana, as well as free shuttle service to and from partner Ensenada hotel, City Express.
