There’s a breezy new addition to Little Italy’s dining scene! Brisa, an island vibes and Latin-Japanese fusion restaurant, is now open at the corner of Kettner and Hawthorn—offering a tropical-inspired escape in one of San Diego’s most vibrant neighborhoods.

A Global Flavor Journey

Under the culinary direction of Chef James Montejano, Brisa’s menu is anything but ordinary. Highlights include the Lump Crab Nopal Tostada with street corn and salsa macha, Bacon-Wrapped Scallops over purple Peruvian potatoes with coconut truffle sauce, and a show-stopping 32oz Porterhouse for Two.

The raw bar is equally impressive, serving up fresh oysters, sashimi, and inventive takes like the Passionfruit Ceviche and Augachila Rojo with strawberry habanero hibiscus.

Sushi lovers, take note—the rolls here are works of art. Try the Brisa Roll with yellowtail, spicy crabmeat, and shiso leaf, topped with seared tuna and wasabi tobiko, or the Tizón Roll, featuring truffle oil, torched salmon, and a pop of black tobiko.

Brisa’s beverage program, led by co-owner Jennifer Reinhart, delivers tropical cocktails and refreshing non-alcoholic sips that perfectly match the menu’s coastal flair.

Fan favorites include the spicy Guava Lava with jalapeño-infused tequila and the elegant Tokyo Garden, a botanical mix of gin, sake, and lime. Non-drinkers can enjoy fresh creations like the Hot Mango Tango or the sparkling Coco No-jito.
