Wine Girl is finally making its way to San Diego after building a solid following in Scottsdale and Napa Valley, opening in the Gaslamp in October 2025.

The 2,400 square foot space at 460 Fifth Avenue in the Gaslamp Promenade promises all the things that made their other locations popular—rotating wines on tap, curated food, and those signature swings that are basically designed for your Instagram story.

Wine That Isn’t Stuffy

The whole vibe is about making wine feel accessible instead of pretentious, which could work really well here since San Diego isn’t exactly known for being stuffy about anything.

They’re doing rotating wines on tap, which is smart because it keeps things fresh and lets you try smaller pours without committing to a full glass of something you might hate.

Plus there’s a reserve bottle list, local beers, spritzers, and shareable bites that change regularly.

The aesthetic is very much pastel pink and chic seating with those photo-worthy swings, so yeah, it’s definitely designed with social media in mind. But honestly, if the wine program is solid, we don’t mind a place that looks good in photos too.

Event Programming

The Gaslamp location gives them built-in crowds, but it also means they’re competing with every other bar trying to grab the same people. Events are their special sauce.

They’re bringing over their established event lineup—paint and sip nights, TV viewing parties, live podcast tapings, yoga and mimosas, and something called “Wine Girl Bottle Boys Nights” that we’re definitely curious about.

Seven days a week with regular programming suggests they’re serious about becoming a neighborhood spot rather than just banking on weekend foot traffic.

See you there!

San Diego already has plenty of wine bars, so Wine Girl is going to need more than just pretty interiors to make it work. But the “wine on tap” concept is interesting, and they seem to have a formula that nails the balance between accessible and quality,

Sounds good to us – see you there!
