Beautiful muse Kira (Newton-John) is sent from up above to inspire struggling artist Sonny (Michael Beck) and help motivate him to open a roller-disco (I may be biased by the fact that I think Newton-John is so hot that I could watch her sit on a bench all day and find it thrilling…but that’s beside the point!)!
I mean…come on!? It’s the stuff of legend! And thank goodness the organizers of FilmOut San Diego had the vision to bring it back to Hillcrest Cinemas this week!

A stage musical based on the 80’s cult classic opened in 2007 on Broadway. The dazzling soundtrack includes many hot songs of the era performed by Newton-John, Electric Light Orchestra, Cliff Richard, and The Tubes.
The film also features animation (oh yes, animation is included in this roller skating adventure!) by Don Bluth.
