The Great American Eclipse – The Best Viewing Party In San Diego
August 21st certainly won’t be full of the regular Monday blues.
That’s right. You’re gonna need to head to the office late so you can watch a once-in-a-lifetime treat from the universe!

The Great American Total Solar Eclipse is gearing up to peak in San Diego around 10:23 a.m., and the Fleet Science Center is going to help us see it all safely – and with perks!
The free event at the Fleet begins at 9 a.m. and includes:
• A free eclipse viewing from the Plaza in front of the Fleet Science Center
• Ask an Astronomer: Resident astronomer, Dr. Lisa Will, will answer your eclipse and space questions
• Pinhole Projectors: Supplies and instructions will be provided so you can make your own simple object that will project the eclipse
• Solar eclipse glasses for sale—these inexpensive glasses are made with special filters that allow you to view the eclipse without risking eye damage (SOLD OUT)
Did we mention there would be morning lattes, croissants and smoothies involved, too!? Head to the Fleet’s cafe, Craveology to purchase these extra delights.

Though we won’t see “totality” overhead in San Diego, the Fleet is planning to show it on the Giant Dome Screen!
We’ll see you there, geek glasses and all 🤓🤓!
