French-Inspired Zinqué Says Bonjour To San Diego’s Little Italy Neighborhood

Zinqué, a French bistro, café and wine bar known for iconic locations in Venice, West Hollywood, Newport Beach, and Downtown Los Angeles, has opened a new location and bringing its French fare to San Diego’s vibrant Little Italy neighborhood.

Totally chic

Zinqué is housed at AV8, a mixed-use retail and residential development in San Diego’s Little Italy, on the corner of Kettner Boulevard and West Hawthorn Street. With a nearly 3,000-square foot space, Zinqué features a chic interior designed with a central bar, wooden tables, fireplace, wrought-iron windows and covered street-side patio.

The seductiveness of charred cedar (a Zinqué signature), raw concrete and moody lighting meets relaxed furnishings, natural wood beam ceilings and fragrant landscaping to create a space that easily transitions between day and night dining and that is at once refined and
uncomplicated.

“We’ve been interested in expanding to San Diego for quite a while, but I was searching for the perfect location,” said restaurant owner Emmanuel Dossetti. “Little Italy is ideal because it is reminiscent of our first location in Venice. It has that same neighborhood feel with a mix of creative professionals and residents who can come in at all hours of the day to drink coffee, enjoy a glass of wine, dine, read, work, and socialize.”

An impressive menu

Like the restaurant’s sibling locations in Southern California, the new Zinqué offers an impressive menu of craft cocktails and French staples. Guests can start their day with a delicious breakfast sandwich (egg, tomato, basil, aged Gruyère) or house-baked croissant.

For lunch and dinner, French-inspired meals include gourmet sandwiches, salads, and their famous “Le Bowl” along with larger plates such as the grilled branzino and steak-frites. The full menu will be available until 11pm, and flatbreads, quiches, and other bites will be served until midnight on weekdays and 2am on weekends.

Continuing the tradition of high-quality products available at all Zinqué locations, the bistro will offer the best in French cuisine, including authentic Parisian bread imported from the famous Poilâne Bakery in Paris, and coffee brewed with beans from La Colombe, the world-renowned coffee roasters.

Zinqué will also serve classic cheeses, such as Epoisses from Burgundy (known as the “king
of cheeses”) and will craft only the finest charcuterie selections. With an emphasis on organic and sustainable wines, the extensive wine list is carefully selected and will feature French wines as well as unique producers from around the world.
