ArtReach Mural Program, St. Paul’s, & The Museum School Celebrates Dedication And Ribbon Cutting

This mural project is a true neighborhood collaboration. ArtReach, The Museum School, and St. Paul’s Senior Services are all within mere blocks of each other. Led by the ArtReach Mural Program, all three organizations are coming together to create a transformative and lasting mural for the surrounding community.

A collaboration with 1st-Grade students & St. Paul’s

This mural project involves the 1st-grade students from The Museum School, a free public charter school. Not only did they help inspire the design for the mural by sharing their words, drawings, and ideas, but they will also help paint this new mural together. The themes present in the mural design touch on sharing, collaboration, creativity, kindness, growth, and togetherness.

Different hands can be seen across the wall- all engaged in various activities that further enhance these themes: planting a flower, holding in trust, supporting a bird, and creating on paper. First-grade student-drawn flowers are featured throughout, and large, joyful, colorful shapes make up the background.

ArtReach Mural Program Dedication and Ribbon Cutting

Folks from St. Paul’s, ArtReach, and the Museum School will join together for the Mural Dedication and Ribbon Cutting on June 29th at 9:30AM. We will celebrate the 1st-grade students who painted the mural and helped transform their community through collaboration. It is a hopeful and uplifting way to end the school year. It adds meaningful color to the public-facing landscape just in time for summer, and to last for years to come.

While this is not one of our larger murals, the fact that it is created by 1st graders makes it special. Check out all of the ArtReach murals around San Diego County here.

About the ArtReach Mural Program

The ArtReach Mural Program believes in the power of community and art to change lives and spaces. A mural provides an opportunity for people to work together while creating something transformative and lasting for their site. The ArtReach Mural Program works directly with youth at schools and community centers to dream-up large collaborative works that represent their vision.
