Zama, A Tropical Escape, Is Coming To Gaslamp

Zama, a tropical escape highlighting Latin American cuisine with a twist, is coming to Gaslamp with an expected opening this summer!

Brought to you by the group famous for Rusticcuina and Breakfast & Bubbles, Zama will focus on Latin American cuisine with the addition of Peruvian and Mexican dishes like Carpaccio, Agua Chile, and Tartar and will also have a Japanese-inspired sushi bar created by ​​Chef Tayuka Kudo (formerly of Nobu and Lumi), against the extravagant backdrop of the lush jungle-inspired space.

The unique blend of culinary offerings lends itself to the intrigue of the space, curated for guests looking to experience a variety of flavors, sights, and sounds while surrounded by a lush and alluring atmosphere.

Designed by Tucker Sadler Architects, known for projects like the AC Hotel in Gaslamp and Portside Pier, Zama’s tropical rainforest-inspired space accents forest greens and natural custom wood built-in’s giving the space a natural, authentic feel.

In addition to the enticing food offerings, the beverage program mimics the space’s tropical flare offering cocktails highlighting refreshing exotic ingredients like pineapple, mango and guava.

Nighttime entertainment oasis

The Zama experience will extend beyond dinner, featuring a resident DJ and making a seamless transformation into an evening dance bar with tropical, new tango, and Argentinian sounds.
