RustiCucina Celebrates Four Years of Sicilian Culinary Excellence in Hillcrest
Hillcrest’s beloved farm-to-table gem, RustiCucina, is gearing up to mark a delightful milestone—four years of culinary brilliance on Park Avenue—this Sunday, February 4.
The community is invited to drop in for a complimentary glass of champagne as they raise a toast to many more years on Park Ave!
RustiCucina: A Journey from Sicily to Hillcrest
With roots tracing back to Palermo, Sicily, the dynamic trio of partners, Nino Cusimano, Marco Provino, and Mario Liga, are thrilled by the warm embrace their community has given RustiCucina, making it a go-to spot for tantalizing Sicilian flavors.
Originally hailing from Sicily, the trio’s journey to San Diego included stints at the renowned Farmer’s Table, where mentorship from owner Vincenzo Lo Verso ignited their culinary aspirations. Inspired by Lo Verso, they dared to redefine the Italian dining experience in San Diego, venturing beyond the familiar streets of Little Italy.
Home of the tableside Parmesan wheel
Fueled by fresh ingredients and abundant Parmigiano Reggiano, RustiCucina has carved its niche in San Diego’s culinary landscape, notably introducing the tableside Parmesan wheel pasta.
Their menu features authentic Sicilian delights reminiscent of Nonna’s kitchen, such as Polpette Della Nonna with Parmesan fondue, Sauteed Sicilian Artichokes in a garlic lemon sauce, Lamb Ossobuco, Brasato Di Manzo—a four-hour slow-braised short rib with Parmesan porcini risotto—and more!
An intriguing highlight is the Build Your Own Pasta menu, inviting you to unleash your creativity and cravings, collaborating with chefs to craft a unique yet classic Italian dish.
