This isn’t your average boat story. Sean “Saverio” Jamieson, the mastermind behind these romantic cruises, was practically born with sea legs.

Growing up in Long Beach, he was that guy who was always in, on, or near the water. But it wasn’t until a fateful trip to Venice for the Vogalonga regatta that he fell head over heels for gondolas.

Imagine dozens of trips filled with rowing, pasta-eating, and wine-sipping. That’s what it took for Sean to catch the gondola bug. And catch it he did—so much so that he learned to build his own replica gondolas. Talk about bringing your work home with you!

A Slice of Venice in San Diego

Fast forward to 1999, and Sean’s bringing a touch of Venice to the Coronado Cays. The Gondola Company sets up shop at the Loews Coronado Bay Resort, and suddenly, San Diegans are living la dolce vita without leaving the county.

But here’s the kicker—for Sean, it’s not about creating some flashy tourist trap. Nope, this guy’s all about sharing the peace and joy he found during those Italian boating days. It’s about that moment when you’re gliding through the water, the world slows down, and you can’t help but smile.
