Appetizers
1) Stout-Battered Onion Rings
These bad-boys are super easy to make and delicious. Pair with anything from pork-chops to burgers or simply serve as an appetizer. Your total commitment time is about an hour.
2) Slow-Cooker Beer Cheese Dip
For all you beer-cheese lovers, this one’s for you. A super easy, addictive dip that will have your guests thinking you’re a genius – we won’t tell them it’s pronounced “Guinness.” Prep time on this is only 5-10 minutes, then cook for about an hour while sipping on the left-over beer.
3) Rosemary Ciabatta With Stout Beer
This one is a bit more time-consuming but the end result is well worth the effort. Total time here, from prep to pulling out of the oven, runs about two hours. On the upside, you’ll have Guinness to help pass the time.
4) Cheesy Guinness Bread
Here’s one of my all-time favorites; it’s quick and easy. From start to finish this recipe will only set you back about 40 minutes with only about 10 minutes of prep time.
Main Courses
5) Guinness French Onion Soup
This soup is amazing and fairly simple to prepare. There is a bit of a time commitment, depending on how far you’re willing to take it. Caramelizing the onions can be done “enough” within a half-hour, however the longer you cook them (over low heat) the more sweetness you will get out of the onions. Restaurants will do this for up to five-hours, simply stir every 10 minutes or so.
6) Guinness And Irish Cheddar Macaroni & Cheese
This deliriously good take on Mac-N-Cheese is fantastic! With a prep-time of 30 minutes and cook-time of 20, you’ll be plowing through this dish in under an hour – just enough time to enjoy a pint.
7) Cheddar And Stout Meatloaf
Beer and bacon. What more can we say!? This recipe will take you an hour and 10 minutes from start to finish and tastes even better than it sounds. Your guest won’t want to leave after sampling this delicious concoction.
8) Guinness Bacon Cheeseburgers
Can’t go wrong here; beer, bacon, burger and cheese. Total time for this beauty is only about 35 minutes, is a sure-thing, bursting with flavor and you’ll have leftover beer too!
Desserts
9) Guinness Chocolate Poke Cake
Get all over this mouth-watering treat. With less than 45 minutes of total time, this super-moist, beer-infused chocolate dream will make you giddy.
10) Guinness Milk Chocolate Ice Cream
This delicious, buzz-inducing dessert can also be made with soy ice cream. With only minutes of prep-time, you’ll be indulging in no time.
11) Guinness Chocolate Marshmallow Pie
Here is a legitimate dessert that will have guests clamoring for more. Easily the most time-consuming dish on our list, the prep time on this is a couple of hours, but, worth every minute. You should be making this the day prior to serving as it’s best after resting in the fridge overnight.
12) Guinness Pretzel Truffles
These little beauties are unreal! With only 30 minutes of prep work, you’ll have plenty of drinking time while they chill (about 2 hours, 45 minutes in the fridge), then poke a little fork in them for easy handling and voila!
Enjoy your annual “Irish for a day” celebration and take care out there, San Diego!
