A Building With Soul

Originally built in 1886 and renovated in 1922, the House of Blues’ home retains its Roman neo-classical façade with grey granite and intricate terra cotta details.

Inside, the venue is just as rich with character—featuring the largest permanently displayed collection of folk art in the country, celebrating the work of more than 150 self-taught artists. Many of them are African American, using their craft to amplify themes of racial equity, freedom of expression, and spiritual harmony.

A Stage for Legends

That same creative spirit extends to the stage. Over the years, House of Blues San Diego has built a reputation as a launchpad for legendary performers, including Adele, Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake, Mac Miller, and Chris Cornell.

And it’s not just the stars of yesterday—emerging artists, genre-defying acts, and local musicians all find a home here.
