The Arts District at Liberty Station is turning 10! And to celebrate their first decade, they will be having a year-long celebration of creativity, which includes a full season of programs and activities throughout 2017.
In the 10 years that the Arts District has been around, it has grown to behold 140 galleries, museums, nonprofits, boutique shops, restaurants and cafes – all within 45 newly renovated buildings at what was the former Naval Training Center (NTC).

The District has blossomed into one of San Diego’s prime venues, embracing this city’s history and culture.
And while it may be a cool destination for travelers and adventurous locals, at its core, the District is all about supporting arts and culture in San Diego.
NTC Foundation Executive Director, Alan Ziter, explained how much growth and transformation the foundation has undergone in just 10 short years, saying, “It used to be a ghost town around here and now it is bustling every day with activities, art-making, celebrations, and many more people coming from San Diego and out of town.”

The District provides a space and outlet for some of San Diego’s most talented and creative artists; it is a collaborative environment for local arts, science and technology organizations.
Along with the NTC Foundation, the District increases access to the arts for those who wish to be apart of the unique and important culture so important to our San Diego communities.
