Plaza Paseo Real’s Halloween Spooktacular Is Back for Some Family-Friendly Fun
Halloween season is officially here, and Plaza Paseo Real in Carlsbad is pulling out all the stops with their annual Halloween Spooktacular.
Whether you’ve got little ones ready to debut their costumes or you’re just looking for a fun weekend activity, this free community event has everything families need for a memorable morning.

What to Expect
The Halloween Spooktacular transforms the courtyard next to La Costa Roasting into a festive hub of family entertainment. A live DJ will keep the energy up while kids bounce between face painting stations, balloon twisters, and Halloween-themed craft tables.
It’s the kind of setup where parents can actually relax for a minute while the little ones stay entertained.
Beyond the courtyard activities, participating shops and restaurants on the upper level are opening their doors for trick-or-treating.
We’re talking a full candy haul without having to walk the neighborhood—perfect for families with younger kids who might not make it through a full evening of door-to-door rounds.
Photo Ops and Costume Fun
Costumes are highly encouraged, and there will be plenty of photo opportunities set up throughout the event. Whether your kid is going full superhero or opted for the classic ghost-with-a-sheet route, there’s space to capture those memories before the sugar rush kicks in.
The whole event runs for two hours, which feels like the sweet spot for this age group—long enough to do everything but short enough that nobody melts down on the way home.

Plaza Paseo Real knows how to throw a solid community event, and this Halloween celebration delivers on all the basics without any fuss.
