La Valencia Hotel is Turning 100 and La Jolla’s Pink Lady is Celebrating All Year Long
La Valencia Hotel – La Jolla’s beloved Pink Lady – is turning 100 in 2026, and the centennial celebration is already underway.
A full calendar of special events, exclusive experiences, and community collaborations are planned throughout the year, kicking off with the launch of the 1926 Social Club on the Med Patio.

Thursday Nights at the 1926 Social Club
Every Thursday evening on La Valencia’s Med Patio, the 1926 Social Club brings the glamorous spirit of the Roaring Twenties back to Prospect Street.
Gather under the palms and twinkling stars for live jazz and a curated menu of Prohibition-era cocktails crafted for the occasion:
- Mary Pickford – white rum, pineapple juice, Luxardo Maraschino liqueur, and grenadine, named for the Academy Award-winning actor who frequented the hotel in its early days
- La Jolla Holiday – white rum, lime, grapefruit, Luxardo Maraschino liqueur, and simple syrup
- Cat’s Rye – Sazerac Rye whiskey, Peychaud’s Bitters, simple syrup, and absinthe
The Centennial Prix-Fixe
Alongside the cocktail program, Executive Chef Ernest Lopez has curated a limited-time $100 prix-fixe experience for two in honor of the centennial.
The menu opens with The Med Spread – house-made tzatziki, zesty hummus, and green goddess dip served with grilled pita, crisp lavash, and shaved vegetable salad.
Mains are two Skewered Shrimp and Flat Iron Steaks with broiled asparagus and loaded mashed potatoes, followed by a shared Tiramisu and Raspberry Sorbet Duo for dessert, all finished with a celebratory glass of bubbly.

The Starlet Escape Spa Package
Inspired by La Valencia’s Hollywood golden age, the Starlet Escape is a 90-minute spa experience priced at $444 – valued at $531, with over $85 in seasonal savings.
The journey begins with a full-body massage, followed by a golden honey heel glaze foot treatment, and finishes with a Glo2Facial Express Treatment infusing the skin with 24K gold and luxurious actives. Old Hollywood glamour, updated for 2026.

More Centennial Experiences Throughout the Year
The calendar doesn’t stop there. A historic property tour led by Les Clefs d’Or concierge Mark Schoenberg takes guests through the story of La Jolla and the Pink Lady over a glass of champagne or cider.
A murder-mystery dinner series begins in September, set in the Mediterranean Room with a 1920s theme, three-course prix-fixe menu, and a fictional crime to solve.
And in December, a dazzling 1920s-inspired anniversary soirée will mark the official centennial milestone – details and tickets to be announced soon.
Commemorative keepsakes are also available throughout the year, including postcards, espresso cups, and apparel in La Valencia’s signature pink hue.

A Century of Coastal History
La Valencia opened its doors in 1926 and has been a cornerstone of La Jolla’s identity ever since. Over the decades it has welcomed Hollywood luminaries, hosted countless milestones, and remained one of the most recognizable hotels on the Southern California coast.
The centennial year is a chance for San Diegans to be part of that history – with more events and experiences to be announced throughout 2026.
