Two of Southern California’s most decorated beachfront properties are marking five years on the Oceanside waterfront this summer. Mission Pacific and The Seabird have earned the milestone – Michelin star, top Travel + Leisure and Condé Nast Traveler rankings, and all.

The celebration comes with a packed summer calendar – a Top Gun anniversary suite package, a new gelato concept at the Top Gun House, a Fourth of July military flyover, and a full season of rooftop events and new spa treatments.

An’s Gate D5 Opens at the Top Gun House

The latest concept from celebrated gelato maker An’s Gelato opens at the restored Top Gun House on the Mission Pacific campus in mid-June. Guests enter through a security checkpoint and order at a flight-style check-in counter, choosing from sizes like “carry on” and “checked bag.”

The menu features seven rotating small-batch flavors drawing from destinations around the world. Standouts include:

• Charleston – honey butter gelato with gluten-free cornbread and sweet corn bits
• Sambava – cinnamon and vanilla butter with chocolate-covered honeycomb toffee
• McAllen – grapefruit and strawberry sorbet inspired by the citrus farms of Texas
• Visalia – roasted pistachio with dark chocolate chunks

One exclusive flavor is reserved for hotel guests only.

The Permission to Land Suite Package

To mark the 40th anniversary of Top Gun, Mission Pacific has put together one of the more memorable suite experiences in San Diego.

The Permission to Land package includes two nights in the 1,290-square-foot Ethereal Suite with oceanfront views, a private helicopter tour of the coastline, a sunset sail from Oceanside Harbor, a private beach bonfire, and an in-suite Top Gun and Top Gun: Maverick double feature.

Aviator sunglasses, a curated minibar, two pints of An’s Gate D5’s exclusive hotel gelato flavor, and optional in-suite dinner round out the experience. Rates from $13,292 per package, inclusive of taxes.

Summer on the Rooftop

The Rooftop Bar at Mission Pacific anchors the summer programming from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day.

Kicking things off is the Golden Standard – an anniversary cocktail served in a champagne flute with edible gold flakes, a gold sugar rim, Banks 5 Island Blend, Meletti Amaro, apricot, mango, lemon, and Prosecco.

On the Sunday of Father’s Day weekend, The Rooftop marks the Summer Solstice with fire dance performances by Burning Desire, summer flavors, and rhythmic sets by resident and special guest DJs.

A new late-night bites menu launches in June, available Fridays and Saturdays from 9 PM to 11 PM. And on Labor Day, The Rooftop hosts its third annual Soirée Blanc – an elegant all-white affair with live DJ performances, seafood towers, mezze platters, specialty cocktails, and a photo booth.

A Front Row Seat to the Fourth of July Flyover

On the Fourth of July, Mission Pacific hosts the annual San Diego Salute Formation at The Rooftop Bar. Vintage Beechcraft T-34 propeller-driven military trainer aircraft fly over the Oceanside Pier from mid to late afternoon.

Cabana seating is available for prime viewing at The Rooftop Bar, with family-friendly pool deck viewing at The Seabird.

New Spa Offerings at Sunny’s Spa and Beauty Lounge

The Seabird’s Sunny’s Spa has introduced two new summer treatments. The Next Gen Men Reset is a 60-minute express experience that includes:

• A 15-minute Total Body Recovery Circuit with Therabody compression boots, Wave Rollers, Theragun therapy, and clinical-grade LED eye treatment
• A 30-minute deep-cleanse facial with targeted exfoliation, a custom Circadia mask, firming eye serum, peptide-rich hydration, and sun protection
• A 15-minute Shiftwave Express Reset using pulsed-pressure waves synchronized to the breath to reduce stress and sharpen focus

Girls Gone Mild pairs spa treatments and mini facials with the signature Chill Tide ritual, a floating sound bath, seasonal light bites by Piper, and a champagne or juice bar – a restorative group escape designed around connection.

The Signature Suite Experience

Both properties launch a Signature Suite Experience this summer for guests who want more than a standard stay.

At The Seabird, the focus is on the Grand Estate Presidential and Estate Oceanfront Suites with expansive terraces, uninterrupted ocean views, and private fireplaces.

At Mission Pacific, the Ethereal Suite and Bohemian Suite anchor the program. Guests at both properties receive VIP concierge service, priority dining and spa access, daily breakfast for up to four, a reserved beach setup or private poolside cabana, round-trip transfers from Palomar Carlsbad Airport, and exclusive spa credit.
