Give Back and Get Tropical at Margaritaville’s Day of Service
Margaritaville Hotel San Diego Gaslamp Quarter is turning good vibes into a great cause with its annual Day of Service, a celebration honoring the legacy of Jimmy Buffett.
We can’t think of a better excuse to spend an evening on a rooftop, especially when the drinks are tropical and the cause is this good.

Where the Rooftop Meets the Cause
Head up to the hotel’s rooftop 5 o’Clock Somewhere Bar for live music, tropical cocktails, and island-inspired fun, all free and open to both travelers and locals.
It’s a laid-back night out that happens to be doing a lot of good, with everything benefiting the San Diego Music Foundation.

“We are inviting both travelers and locals to join us for an unforgettable evening of tropical cocktails, live music and a silent auction, all while supporting a meaningful cause,” says Miguel Lopez, General Manager of Margaritaville Hotel San Diego.
“Our Day of Service festivities are an opportunity to support the local community, celebrate the power of music and create experiences that bring people together for a great cause.”
Buffett Beach Band Sets the Tone
The Buffett Beach Band headlines the night, bringing exactly the kind of energy you’d expect from a Jimmy Buffett tribute.
Beyond the music, there’s a travel-themed silent auction to bid on, a photo booth to pose in, and a blender bike competition if you’re feeling competitive. It’s a night built around Buffett’s laid-back, give-back spirit, and it shows in every detail.
Every Sip and Bid Gives Back
Here’s the best part: a portion of the food and beverage sales, plus everything raised at the silent auction, goes straight to the San Diego Music Foundation.
That means every cocktail you order and every bid you place helps fund youth music education, professional development for local musicians, live public performances, and recognition for artists making a real difference through music and service.
The Fun Doesn’t Stop After One Night
This isn’t a one-and-done kind of event. The celebration rolls on all weekend with the Keep the Party Going souvenir cup special, more live music, and a handful of pop-up experiences, so there’s really no rush to fit it all into one night.
Swing by Friday for the headliner, then come back for round two whenever the mood strikes.
See you there!
Come for the music, stay for the cause, and raise a glass to a good weekend for a good reason. Either way, you’ll leave with a good buzz and the satisfaction of knowing it went toward something that matters.
