Catch Seven Bands and a Juried Art Show at Gather on Grand
Escondido has been throwing street festivals on Grand Avenue for more than 30 years. Gather on Grand is the newest one, and it’s built around music.
The Escondido Downtown Business Association put it together with a crew of volunteers, drawing on the community, creativity, and agricultural heritage of Escondido. The festival takes over Grand Avenue between Escondido Blvd. and Ivy Street in the historic downtown.
“Gather on Grand is a street festival meets music festival with creative and diverse art, all rolled into one,” said Carol Rogers, a board member with the Escondido Downtown Business Association.

Seven Sets, All of Them on Broadway
The music stages sit at Broadway, and the lineup runs straight through the day with no gaps to wait out. Here’s who is playing and when:
- 10 AM – Virginia James
- 11 AM – Jonny Tarr
- 12 PM – Mohavisoul
- 1 PM – Calamity
- 2 PM – The Gravities
- 3 PM – Zavala Soul
- 4 PM – The Bastards
Seven acts, one afternoon, and enough range to keep you parked on the block longer than you planned.

Shop Art in the Garden Straight From the Artists
Art in the Garden is a juried show inside the festival, set up in Heritage Garden Park at the northeast corner of Juniper Street and Grand Avenue. Southern California artists bring work to show and sell.
Buy straight from the person who made the piece. Ask how it came together while you’re standing in front of it, which is the part you don’t get online.

Hundreds of Vendors and the Fall Flavors to Match
Hundreds of vendors fill the street with hand-crafted gifts, imports, and international cuisine. Seasonal fall flavors turn up throughout the day, so come hungry.
Kids get interactive crafts, and there are free hands-on art activities scattered through the festival. It all sits within a short walk, which makes this an easy one with a stroller in tow.
A Volunteer Crew Behind the Whole Day
Gather on Grand is organized entirely by volunteers, and it’s part of the year-round work the EDBA does to support downtown businesses and bring people together through arts and culture.
Escondido Street Festivals have been doing that for three decades, connecting local shops, artists, makers, and community organizations with thousands of people downtown.
See you there!
