Catch Dana Carvey and Four Decades of Characters on Shelter Island
Some comedians you watch once. Others you end up quoting at parties 30 years later. Dana Carvey landed in the second group somewhere around 1987, and he is bringing the full range of it to Shelter Island. Tickets are on sale now.

Church Lady, Garth, and a Catalog of Impressions
Carvey spent seven seasons on Saturday Night Live, from 1986 to 1993, and built characters that outlived the sketches they came from. The Church Lady. Hans, of Hans and Franz. Garth Algar, who went on to anchor Wayne’s World.
Then there are the impressions. His takes on American political figures set the template for how SNL handled Washington, and they are still the versions people reach for. He won a Primetime Emmy in 1993 for the run.
From Missoula to the Master of Disguise
Carvey was born in Missoula, Montana, and spent the years after SNL splitting his time between stand-up and film, including The Master of Disguise and Trapped in Paradise.
Stand-up is where the character work lives, though. With no sketch built around them, the voices have to carry themselves, and his still do.

The SNL Stories Behind Fly on the Wall
These days Carvey co-hosts Fly on the Wall with David Spade, a podcast built around SNL history and the people who made it. It has handed him a second audience, plenty of them too young to have caught the Church Lady on a Saturday night the first time around.
Expect both crowds in the room. That mix tends to make for a good night.
See you there!
Carvey has been building these characters since the eighties, and he is bringing all of them to Shelter Island. Tickets are on sale now, so do not wait.
