AleSmith’s Anvil Of Hope Hosts Virtual Giving Tree Gala

AleSmith Brewing Company’s newly-established nonprofit, Anvil of Hope, is happy to announce their Inaugural Anvil of Hope Virtual Giving Tree Gala taking place on Saturday, December 12th at 5:30PM.

“Many continue to face challenges as this pandemic continues, and with that, I know a lot of us are at a point where COVID fatigue and a sense of hopelessness both make every day expenditures and financial obligations seemingly impossible to tackle. Our goal with this Virtual Giving Tree Gala is to provide some hope for the holidays,” says Peter Zien, owner of AleSmith.

The brainchild of Alesmith

Anvil of Hope is the brainchild of AleSmith Brewing Company’s owners, Peter and Vicky Zien – merging their shared desire to help others. As a manifestation and extension of their existing brand, the nonprofit aims to support those who need it most. Spearheading the operations of the charity component is AleSmith’s Chief Culture and Community Advocate Vicky Zien, whose own upbringing fueled her fervor for helping others.

“As one of five children growing up in poverty, I remember all too well the struggles we went through, which continued into young adulthood. We want to help strengthen the family unit and do our part to prevent those adverse consequences that stem from lack of opportunity and poverty,” says Vicky Zien.

After witnessing the financial struggle so many families have endured during this difficult period – some still recovering from their own bouts with COVID-19 – the Anvil of Hope team felt it apropos to host a virtual gala dedicated to a cause that would help those families pay their bills as well as provide enough money for food and hygiene products. The gala’s theme will implore people to “Adopt a Family/Child for the Holidays.”

“Our mission is to provide long-term solutions for needy families through a series of programs including career development, job and skills training, mentoring, and housing assistance. Our specific goal of the Anvil of Hope Gala is to provide a modest holiday experience for these families while providing needed hygiene and cleaning products, a gift for each child, and a special holiday meal,” says Vicky Zien.

Sam Zien, or “Sam the Cooking Guy” as many know him, will handle the emcee duties, while virtual attendees will be treated to multiple performances from the talented Alicia Gwynn, as well as world-renowned guitar virtuoso, Gary Hoey. Virtual guests will also have the opportunity to bid on exciting prizes through the event’s online silent auction, featuring vacation stays at Canyon Ranch Wellness Resort in Arizona, a JACE Wines three-month membership, a virtual guitar lesson with Gary Hoey, Cheesemaking at Peter Zien’s CheeseSmith, dinner for four at Graze hosted by Sam the Cooking Guy, and various gift baskets.  All who register will be entered in a drawing for a chance to win a two-night stay at the Hard Rock Hotel in San Diego, courtesy of Kelly Kline with One Trust Home Loans.

ABOUT ANVIL OF HOPE

Anvil of Hope is the non-profit brainchild of AleSmith Brewing Company’s owners, Peter and Vicky Zien, who are deeply committed to providing assistance to the San Diego community and beyond. Low-income families, those who are facing homelessness, youth who are aging out of foster care and citizens who are experiencing temporary hardships, are at the heart of their mission. A bevy of services will be offered with the goal being to set individuals up for long-term success rather than simply providing temporary relief.  A volunteer staff of “Anvil Angels” and “Angel Contractors” will help offer their personal touch and support.
