NOVA Releases Azteks Raspberry Kombucha in Support of San Diego State Student Athletes

NOVA Easy Kombucha released Azteks Raspberry Kombucha, a drink created in collaboration with San Diego State University men’s basketball players via MESA Foundation, an official Name Image Likeness (NIL) partner of the University.

Five percent of all sales of the drink will be donated to MESA in support of the SDSU student-athletes. NOVA Founder Tiago Carneiro made the announcement.

Azteks Raspberry Kombucha is available on draft and in four packs of 16-oz cans at all NOVA and NOVO Brazil locations: NOVA Ocean Beach, NOVO headquarters taproom in Chula Vista, NOVO Otay Ranch Town Center, NOVO Imperial Beach, and the soon-to-open NOVO Mission Valley Mall. Later in January, four packs will be available in retail outlets throughout San Diego County.

The beverage has a 6% alcohol-by-volume (ABV), and is gluten-free, vegan, and naturally fermented. The kombucha has tasting notes of lemonade in addition to raspberry.

Lamont Butler, Jaedon LeDee, Micah Parrish, and Cade Alger were among a group of SDSU basketball players who attended the collaboration day last November 20 at NOVO’s Chula Vista headquarters. Players chose the flavor profile, contributed to the design of the brand packaging, and learned about the brewing process. The collaboration occurred the day after an overtime win against the University of Washington in the Continental Tires Main Event tournament in Las Vegas.

“We love San Diego sports, especially San Diego State sports,” Carneiro said. “It was an honor to host the players, and we hope San Diegans will find their kombucha creation to be championship caliber, just like their play on the court.”

NOVA is the Official Hard Kombucha of Snapdragon Stadium, where all SDSU football home games are played. NOVA is also the Official Hard Kombucha of San Diego Wave FC.

MESA Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization.
