Grainbakers Brings Week-Long Pretzel Workshop Tour to San Diego Breweries

The nationally traveling breadmaking school that’s become a local favorite is returning for another intensive week of hands-on pretzel workshops across San Diego County breweries.

Grainbakers has built a following here through their previous 2024 and 2025 visits, and this latest tour combines their signature 90-minute workshops with the craft beer settings that make these classes feel more like social events than traditional cooking instruction.

The Workshop Experience

Each 90-minute session covers pretzel twisting techniques, baking fundamentals, and includes beer cheese as part of the learning experience. The format balances education with entertainment, making it accessible for people who’ve never attempted bread-making alongside those looking to refine their skills.

The brewery settings add a social element that distinguishes these workshops from typical cooking classes. Learning to make pretzels while surrounded by craft beer creates a relaxed atmosphere where mistakes feel less intimidating and successes more celebratory.

The Tour Locations

Classes are happening all around San Diego County through October 3 at five distinct brewery locations: Societe Brewing, Pizza Port Brewing Co., Alesmith Brewing, Pure Project, and Burgeon Beer Company.

Each venue brings its own character to the workshop experience, from urban settings to more suburban atmospheres throughout the county.

This variety gives us options based on location preference and brewery atmosphere, while also allowing Grainbakers to reach different communities during their limited week-long visit.
