Think You Can Build a Better Burger? barleymash Wants to Find Out

May is National Burger Month, and barleymash is marking the occasion with something a little more interactive than a limited-time special.

The barleymash Burger Brawl is an open call for home cooks, burger enthusiasts, and everyone in between to show off their best burger creation – with a seriously good prize waiting on the other side.

Join the barleymash Burger Brawl for a Month's Worth of Free Burgers

Cook it, Post it, Win it

The concept is straightforward. Fire up the grill, build your best burger, and post it to Instagram or TikTok tagging @barleymashsd. That’s it.

No entry forms, no fees – just cook it, post it, and tag it. If your recipe includes alcohol, you’ll need to be 21 or older to enter.

In Chef Kevin’s Hands

Executive Chef Kevin Templeton will be reviewing all submissions personally. If his name sounds familiar, it should. Chef Kevin has appeared on Food Network’s Burgers, Brew & ‘Que and won Food Network’s Chopped: Epic Burgers!, going on to compete in the Chopped Champions Tournament.

In other words, he knows exactly what makes a great burger, and he’s the one deciding whose creation makes the cut.

What the Winner Takes Home

The winner gets flown into barleymash for a content shoot where they’ll work side by side with Chef Kevin to bring their burger to life. From there, the winning creation gets added to the barleymash menu as a monthly special.

On top of that, the winner walks away with a month’s worth of free burgers from barleymash. Not a bad return on a good afternoon at the grill.

See you there!

As Chef Kevin puts it, be creative, have a good time, and don’t take yourself too seriously. The rest will follow.

📆 Submissions open Sunday, May 10 – Sunday, May 31, 2026
🎟️ Tag barleymash on Instagram or TikTok to participate

See you there, San Diego!
