A New Kind of Gym Just Opened in Solana Beach

North County just got a serious upgrade in the fitness department. The Compound Lifting Club, a community-driven strength and conditioning gym founded by Candice Elliott, has opened its second location in Solana Beach – this time with Detroit Pistons forward Tobias Harris on board as co-owner.

To mark the occasion, they’re throwing a free grand opening party this Saturday, and the whole community is invited to come check out the new space.

The Compound Lifting Club Solana Beach

More Than a Gym

The Solana Beach location is a full training facility built to support a range of fitness goals: compound lifting, sled work, cardio conditioning, and open training, plus a recovery suite with saunas, cryotherapy, and more.

The space is big, but the vibe is intentionally personal. The whole concept is built around the idea that people perform better when they feel genuinely supported, not just handed a keycard and pointed toward the treadmills.

The Story Behind the Club

Candice Elliott grew up around fitness – her mom owned a gym – and spent six years as a personal trainer before launching The Compound. That hands-on background shaped her approach: build something where the community is as much a draw as the equipment.

The original Morena location opened in 2022, and the Solana Beach expansion is a natural next step, bringing the concept closer to Candice’s own roots in North County.

The Grand Opening Party

To kick things off, The Compound is throwing a free public grand opening event with a DJ, food, drinks, and good energy. No membership required, no strings attached – just a chance to check out the new space and meet the community behind it.

Whether you’re a serious lifter or just gym-curious, it’s a solid way to spend a Saturday afternoon in North County. The gym sits just minutes from the coast in Solana Beach.

See you there!

The Compound Lifting Club’s grand opening is a chance to experience one of North County’s most exciting new fitness communities. Bring a friend and come see what the buzz is about.
