Concetta Antico Brings a Kaleidoscope of Color to La Jolla With New Gallery Opening

Concetta Antico, the artist famously known as The Color Queen for her rare ability to see over 100 million colors, is back in San Diego—and she’s opening a brand new gallery in the heart of La Jolla.

The Salon of Art Gallery is her latest creative endeavor, bringing her kaleidoscopic, tetrachromatic vision to life in an intimate, design-forward space on Fay Avenue.

A Rare Gift, an Unforgettable Perspective

Known globally for her scientifically verified super-vision, Concetta Antico is a functioning tetrachromat—meaning she has four color receptors instead of the usual three, allowing her to perceive colors most of us can’t even imagine.

With an impressionistic style that captures the hidden beauty of the natural world, her work offers a truly one-of-a-kind viewing experience.

A New Creative Hub for La Jolla

The Salon of Art Gallery blends Victorian charm with modern elegance and will serve as more than just a home for Concetta’s own work. Expect quarterly themed exhibitions, live painting sessions, classical fine art instruction, artist talks, and juried shows.

You can immerse yourself in the magic of color, light, and artistic expression—right in the middle of La Jolla.

An Artist in a League of Her Own

Antico’s paintings have been featured in The Wall Street Journal, The Guardian, and The Cut, and her work continues to draw global attention. After six years back in Australia during COVID-19, she’s returned to San Diego with a renewed passion for sharing her unique gift with the community.

Whether you’re a seasoned collector, an aspiring artist, or simply curious about what it means to see 100 million colors, this gallery offers a vibrant window into a rare sensory world.
