Take Yourself To The Netherlands, At San Diego’s New DAM Park

Love the European vibe but don’t have the cash to travel across the world? Starting soon, you can get a feel for the Netherlands without leaving San Diego. Just visit the new DAM Park in North Park.

The 6,000 square foot public market, which offers a vibe reminiscent of Amsterdam, hosted a soft opening extravaganza this past weekend, with a grand opening slated for a yet-to-be-disclosed date in June.

The two-story building of DAM is home to several restaurants, bars, a salon, a barbershop and an event space for live music, comedy shows and movie screenings. In addition to the places listed below, the market will also provide space for additional small businesses that have yet to be announced.

Here’s a glimpse at some of the exciting businesses setting up shop:

Buona Forchetta

If it’s Italian food that you’re craving, Buona Forchetta is your panacea. A South Park favorite since 2011, Buona brings their delicious pizzas, pastas and more to this new venue.

Le Parfait Paris

Got a sweet tooth? Try a macaron at Le Parfait Paris. The scrumptious Gaslamp staple, owned by DAM Park co-founder Guillaume Ryon, opens its third location here. If it sounds familiar, you have seen the French bakery at its Liberty Public Market spot, too.

Mama Made Thai

Get a taste of Asian street food at this yummy spot. From pan fried rice and noodle dishes to curries, Mama Made Thai serves family recipes made from local ingredients. The restaurant also has a location at Liberty Public Market.

Viva Brazil

With locations in Pacific beach and the Gaslamp, Viva Brazil waxing shop will also serve DAM Park.

Daarboven

You will be able to enjoy a speakeasy-type atmosphere at this upstairs bar that plans to serve mouth-watering gin-inspired cocktails.

Da Boot Bar

A bar created out of the hull of a boat? Sounds awesome, right? Be sure to check out the unique spot that is Da Boot Bar to quench your thirst with an alcoholic beverage while soaking in the nautical theme.
