Dining Out For Life® San Diego Is Back For 2022

Save the Date to Dine Out and Give Back! The San Diego LGBT Community Center (The Center) is excited to announce the return of this year’s Dining Out For Life® San Diego event, set for Thursday, April 28, 2022, in locations throughout San Diego County.

Each year, Dining Out For Life® San Diego draws thousands of participants who dine out with coworkers, family, and friends for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and drinks at the event’s participating locations. Participating locations – some of San Diego’s most generous restaurants, bars, and coffee and ice cream shops – agree to donate 25 percent or more of their food and liquor sales from that day to support HIV services and prevention programs at The Center.

“This event raises funds for critically important HIV prevention programs and services, while also supporting local restaurants,” says Caroline (Cara) Dessert (she/her), Esq., Chief Executive Officer of The San Diego LGBT Community Center.

“We know that our community restaurants, coffee shops, and bars were affected during the pandemic, and we hope this year’s Dining Out For Life ® San Diego will provide an opportunity to draw customers back, as well as to support the vital work of The San Diego LGBT Community Center.”

Call For Participating Restaurants

The Center invites local eating and drinking establishments to join as participating locations for Dining Out For Life ® San Diego.

“Each year, thousands of San Diegans are Dining Out For Life ® in San Diego to raise funds for The Center’s HIV prevention programs and services,” says Ian Johnson (he/him), The Center’s Senior Director of Development. “We are grateful for so many local restaurants that have already signed up to participate and are eager to add locations in more San Diego neighborhoods this year.

This is one of The Center’s most popular fundraisers, and our diners are already making their reservations; any restaurant, bar, or coffee house that is interested in being a part of this fantastic event, please sign up soon so our event participants know that they can make plans at your location, too!”

Restaurant Highlight: Breakfast Republic in Hillcrest

Breakfast Republic‘s Hillcrest location has announced that they will donate 100% of their proceeds on April 28th to The San Diego LGBT Community Center for Dining Out For Life® San Diego! Serving tasty takes on American classics, Breakfast Republic is an innovative breakfast destination that locals and visitors flock to when they’re in search of a fun and unpretentious place to begin the day.

“Thank you to Johan Engman, founder of Breakfast Republic, for supporting this event every year and giving back to The Center. We are so grateful for your generous contribution in support of our community,” says Ian Johnson.
