San Diego-Created ‘Over The Line’ Sport Hosts World Championship With A Party On The Beach!
San Diego, we invented the beautiful sport of Over The Line, and for those of you natives, you know this is the can’t-miss event of the summer.
Although, the Over The Line crew would have us add: “Not SD natives? Not a problem. If you like beer, babes, bikinis, or all the above…you’re good to go!”
And they have 64 years of history behind them.
That’s right, this year marks the 64th World Championship Over The Line Tournament, and it takes place across two weekends: Saturday, July 8th to Sunday, July 9th and Saturday, July 15th to Sunday, July 16th.
Join them on Fiesta Island to watch it all go down! What better way to draw out the birthday of ‘Murica than a weekend celebration of bats, brews and beach!?
Some details:
- Games start promptly at 7:30 a.m. and continue until dark during both weekends of Over the Line
- First weekend games are three innings only
- Second weekend games are four innings
- The Men’s Open Final on Sunday will have a time limit imposed
- Double-elimination for all teams in all 10 divisions
- Over the Line is a public event and requires no ticket or entrance fee to watch the games and enjoy the tournament
While OTL is a public event, it is not suitable/safe for children due to crowds, bat & ball related games, and… language.
The rule of “B”s:
– No bottles
– No bicycles
– No bowzers (dogs)
– No babies
– No boas
– No bad attitudes
– No battles (fighting)
