Unleash Your Inner Art Cat at El Cajon’s Alley Cat Art Walk
The 13th Annual Alley Cat Art Walk is about to turn the historic district into a vibrant canvas of creativity and culture. We’re gearing up for this purr-fect blend of local art, music, and community spirit that’s become an East County tradition.
A Feast for the Senses
Main Street and Rea Avenue will transform into a playground for art lovers of all ages. We’ll be strolling through Arts Alley, checking out artisanal craft booths, and maybe snagging a unique piece from one of the boutique vendors.
For our little Picassos, there are interactive art booths where they can unleash their creativity. With all venues within walking distance, we’re in for an easy, breezy art adventure.
Spotlight on Local Talent
This year’s walk is serving up some seriously cool exhibits. Sophie’s Gallery is dishing out “Table Manners,” an art show inspired by all things culinary.
Because art pairs perfectly with a cold one, they’re bringing a taste of Oktoberfest with beer on tap, courtesy of The El Cajon German Societies. Adding to the atmosphere, Matt DiBiase will be there, filling the air with his electronic vibraphone vibes.
The artistic offerings don’t stop there. We’re talking vintage neon signs at the East County Arts Association, Edith P. Namias’s “Works on Paper” at Silver Creek Fine Art & Framing, and a juried contest featuring 30 artistically jazzed-up cutting boards at Paint & Pallet.
The best part? Sales from these cutting boards will fund a new mural in Downtown El Cajon. Now that’s art that keeps on giving!
See you there!
Time to put on our walking shoes and get ready to discover the vibrant art scene of East County.
Mark your calendars for September 13—that’s when all this artistic magic happens. The festivities kick off at 4 PM and keep flowing until 8 PM. The best part? It’s all free and family-friendly!
