Ninth Annual Poker Run To Support Wounded Veterans In San Diego
The American Legion Alvin Myo Dunn Post 365’s Annual Daryl Malone Memorial Poker Run is taking place on Saturday, April 22. This year, the goal is to raise $15,000 for local nonprofits like Wounded Warrior Homes.
Annual Poker Run to raise funds for veteran and military causes
The purpose of the annual Poker Run is to bring awareness to veteran causes, promote camaraderie, to be ambassadors to our community and ultimately to raise funds for veteran and military causes, like Wounded Warrior Homes. A poker run is an organized event in which participants on motorcycles must visit three checkpoints, drawing a playing card at each one. The objective is to have the best poker hand at the end of the run.
The American Legion Riders consists of The American Legion (veterans who have served), the American Legion Auxiliary (wives, daughters, granddaughters, mothers, grandmothers of veterans) and the Sons of the American Legion (sons, grandsons of veterans). Their primary objective is to support the Military and Veterans, along with their families, and to be ambassadors to the community.
