19 Years of Outdoor Art Magic: ArtWalk Liberty Station Returns
ArtWalk Liberty Station is back for its 19th year, bringing a weekend-long celebration of arts and culture to San Diego’s Liberty Station.
ArtWalk kicks-off with a Preview pARTy, sponsored by Ranch & Coast Magazine, where you can get early access to meet the artists and view art pieces before the crowds.
The $25 ticket includes a drink. The sneak peek event will feature “the nation’s foremost Jimmy Buffett tribute band,” Mark Wood and The Parrot Head Band, tasty festival food available for purchase, and a variety of beverage options.
Celebration of Creativity
The festival celebrates creativity from both sides of the border, with more than 175 artists coming from across several states and Mexico to show and sell their artwork, including paintings, photography, glass and ceramics, jewelry, and sculpture.
For families, there will also be a KidsWalk hands-on art experience within the event, with a variety of kids activities.
“ArtWalk Liberty Station brings fine art outside, under San Diego’s sunny skies, to create the opportunity for viewing art under natural light in a gorgeous setting surrounding a rose garden,” explains Curt Brooker, Director of ArtWalk San Diego.
Interactive Art Experiences
“You can purchase artwork directly from the fine artists. It’s a memorable experience to meet the artists and learn what inspires them to create!” says Brooker.
The ARTS DISTRICT at Liberty Station has earned its place as San Diego’s premier venue for arts, museums, dining, and entertainment. The fabulous outdoor setting features a beautiful lawn and tons of free parking. The venue will have a perimeter fence, even though admission is free.
The fence lets those of you over 21 enjoy beer and wine while strolling around the event, rather than having to remain in a beer garden.
Supporting Art Education
This fine art show is part of the ArtWalk San Diego brand known for bringing together all facets of the arts throughout San Diego, while promoting the experience of owning original art.
Each of ArtWalk San Diego’s festivals supports their non-profit partner, ArtReach San Diego, an organization aimed at increasing equity in visual arts education in K-8 schools throughout San Diego County.
They deliver free or low cost workshops to schools that have no other resources for art, focusing on Title One Schools. Many of the programs ArtReach offers are provided at no cost to schools.
