Toast 40 Years of Busalacchi at The Feast

The Busalacchi family is turning 40, and they’re celebrating the way any Italian family would: with a massive dinner in the middle of the street.

The Feast is a brand-new annual tradition debuting this October, and it’s shaping up to be one of the best nights Little Italy has ever seen.

Where Little Italy Comes Together

For one night only, India Street closes from Fir Street to Grape Street, turning into a communal gathering space with long banquet tables stretching through the heart of the neighborhood.

It’s inspired by the Italian tradition of gathering around the table, and it’s happening beneath the stars and Little Italy’s iconic string lights.

This inaugural edition marks 40 years of the Busalacchi family serving San Diego through Barbusa, Lala, Nonna, and Cafe Zucchero, and helping shape Little Italy into the culinary destination it is today.

A Feast in Every Sense of the Word

The night builds toward a four-course family-style dinner by Barbusa, served right at the communal table, with wine service included.

Before that, expect a reception hour packed with grazing stations, live music, entertainment, and activations throughout the event footprint, plus plenty of photo ops along the way.

“For 40 years, our family has had the privilege of growing alongside this neighborhood,” said Peter “PJ” Busalacchi, son of founder Joe Busalacchi Sr. and General Manager of Barbusa.

“As we looked toward the future, we wanted to create something that would become a lasting tradition for Little Italy. The Feast is an opportunity to celebrate not only our family’s history, but the community that has supported us every step of the way. We hope it becomes an event that people look forward to year after year.”

Pick Your Seat at the Table

There are three ways to experience The Feast, with early reservation pricing available:

  • General Admission – Reception hour with grazing stations, entertainment, and activations; reserved seating at the communal table; four-course family-style dinner with wine service; live entertainment and post-dinner celebration
  • VIP Admission – Everything in General Admission, plus priority check-in, premium dining seating, an exclusive Aperol Spritz welcome reception, a VIP wine tasting station, upgraded wine offerings, a complimentary affogato, a keepsake gift, and valet parking
  • Founder’s Table – Everything in VIP, plus a premium reserved table for eight guests and recognition on the table menu

Dinner That Gives Back

This one comes with real purpose behind it.

The Feast benefits The Positive Movement Foundation, a San Diego-based nonprofit supporting underserved and at-risk children and youth through partnerships with seven local schools, plus Juvenile Courts and Community Schools.

Proceeds go toward classroom tools, scholarships, workshops, and enrichment programs, all provided at no cost to participating schools.

See you there!

Forty years of Busalacchi, one legendary street dinner, and a cause worth raising a glass to. This is Little Italy’s newest can’t-miss night.
