Netflix Star Chef Christophe Rull Opens His Dream Patisserie in San Marcos
We’ve watched him create magic on Netflix’s Bake Squad and dominate Food Network competitions, but now Chef Christophe Rull is bringing his Michelin-trained talents directly to our backyard. His first namesake bakery, Christophe Rull Patisserie, opens at North City in San Marcos, and it’s the kind of opening that has serious pastry lovers genuinely excited.

What We’re Getting
This isn’t just another neighborhood bakery. Chef Christophe spent over 20 years perfecting his craft in Michelin-starred kitchens across France before making his mark at luxury hotels like Park Hyatt Aviara and Hotel Bel-Air, where his pastry program ranked number 5 on The World’s 50 Best World Class Patisseries list in 2025.
Now all that expertise is going into pull-apart cinnamon rolls, buttery croissants, quiches, and handcrafted macarons.
The menu promises that perfect blend of refined French technique with the approachable style that made him a television favorite. We’re talking about pastries that look like art but taste like comfort food elevated to its highest form.
The Space and Experience
The 1,209-square-foot patisserie was designed by Sangita Wahi of We Design, featuring soft French pastels accented with rich gold-brown tones. It sounds like the kind of place where grabbing a morning croissant feels like a small luxury rather than just another coffee run.
Grand Opening Festivities
The celebration kicks off with a ribbon-cutting ceremony featuring San Marcos Mayor Rebecca Jones and the Chamber of Commerce, plus live DJ entertainment and raffle giveaways.
Prizes include pastries, coffees, pastry classes, tasting experiences, and gift cards—basically everything we’d want from a pastry chef’s grand opening.
What’s Coming Next
Chef Christophe has already hinted at pastry classes and a chocolate program that will showcase his competitive background in chocolate work.
