Creativity Comes Alive at the Conrad’s Community Arts Open House
All are welcome at The Conrad for its annual free Community Arts Open House—part of the mission of the La Jolla Music Society to engage with students and art enthusiasts from all around San Diego County.
These events provide ways to learn about and connect with San Diego’s leading presenter of world-class performing arts at its beautiful venue in the heart of La Jolla.
The Conrad comes to life for this family-friendly community event based on the theme of Create! Join in for a fun day of free classes, activities, arts and crafts, and performances featuring some of San Diego’s finest musicians, dancers, and artists.
Musical performances will include harpist Chiara Capobianco, the Euphoria Brass Band, youth ensembles, including the Mission Bay Mambo Orchestra, Poway High School, the San Diego State University Jazz Trio, Correia Middle School, and Pershing Middle School, as well as students from LJMS’ own Community Music Center.
You’ll also have a chance to create your own music and art in an interactive drum circle with Drummers Without Borders, a hip hop dance class with Alyssa Junious, a dance workshop with Malashock Dance, and arts and crafts facilitated by Studio ACE and Elizabeth Tobias.
New this year, the upstairs Hoehn Gallery at The Conrad will be dedicated to an exhibit of artwork by the students of La Jolla High School’s advanced arts programs.
Don’t miss this chance to embrace the spirit of creativity!
See you there!
