Concert At The Conrad Pairs Professional Jazz Artists With Students From Mission Bay High School
Students from Mission Bay High School’s renowned music programs will join professional jazz artists on stage at The Conrad when JazzReach’s critically acclaimed resident ensemble, Metta Quintet, culminates a four-day educational residency on Saturday, October 29, 2022.
This concert is presented in partnership with San Diego Unified School District’s Visual and Performing Arts Department.
In the first residency as part of La Jolla Music Society (LJMS)’s ConRAD Kids Series, now in its fourth season, JazzReach will also provide assemblies at three middle schools, in addition to clinics/rehearsals with Mission Bay High School:

In addition, 50 Education Tickets will be offered to students at CPMA, Roosevelt, and Correia to see the band onstage in The Baker-Baum Concert Hall. Metta Quintet will work with Mission Bay’s Mambo Orchestra.

Music Program at Mission Bay High School
The music program at Mission Bay High School has been inspiring students for the last fifty years. Under the direction of award-winning educator and performer Jean-Paul Balmat, students learn how to perform, arrange, compose, and direct, giving them an amazing start to their creative futures. Their premier jazz ensemble, the Preservationists, has won multiple awards and performed across the globe.
