Autumn Magic Blooms at San Diego Botanic Garden
Who says we don’t do fall in Southern California?! San Diego Botanic Garden is about to prove the naysayers wrong with their Annual Fall Festival. We’re talking 37 acres of lush greenery in Encinitas transformed into an autumn wonderland.
It’s the perfect excuse to dust off that sweater you’ve been eyeing since last November!
From Swamp Critters to Japanese Tales
Forget your typical pumpkin patch—this festival is serving up a unique blend of nature and culture that’ll have you falling head over heels for fall.
Billy Lee and the Swamp Critters are kicking things off with their funky “gumbo jazz” that’ll get even the stiffest dancers swaying. Their vintage swing vibes are impossible to resist.
The real showstopper is a live Japanese Kamishibai storytelling performance that’ll transport you straight to the land of the rising sun.
Walter Ritter unveils magical illustrations from a tiny wooden box while spinning yarns of autumnal adventures. It’s like storytime meets art class, with a dash of international flair.
And for all you crafty folks out there, we’ve got you covered. Whether you’re five or fifty-five, there’s a fall-themed project with your name on it. Plus, the kiddos can go wild in Hamilton Children’s Garden, climbing, splashing, and making music like there’s no tomorrow.
The best part? All this fall fun is included with your regular garden admission. Adults, you’re looking at $18 for a day of autumn bliss. Bring the little ones (three to 17) for just $10, and the tiny tots (two and under) get in free.
See you there!
Ready to embrace the autumn vibes? The San Diego Botanic Garden Fall Festival happens on Saturday, September 21. The festivities kick off at 10 AM and wrap up at 1 PM, giving you plenty of time to soak in those fall vibes before heading to the beach. Because let’s face it, that’s how we do fall in San Diego!
