Jurassic Quest Stomps Into Del Mar With Life-Size Dinosaurs
If you’ve got kids (or you’re just really into dinosaurs), Jurassic Quest is rolling into the Del Mar Fairgrounds this weekend for four days of life-size, roaring, moving dinosaurs.
It’s one of those experiences that’s equal parts educational and just plain fun – the kind of thing where everyone leaves a little more obsessed with paleontology than when they arrived.
Life-Size Dinosaurs That Actually Move
We’re talking about a 60-foot Spinosaurus, an 80-foot Apatosaurus, and a full-size T. rex – all realistic, detailed, and animatronic. They move, they roar, they’re impressive as hell.
It’s a fully immersive walk-through experience, so you’re not just looking at them from a distance. You’re right there, which makes it feel a lot more real than staring at bones in a museum (though we love those too).
Hands-On Activities for All Ages
Beyond the dinosaurs themselves, there’s a lot to do. Kids can dig for fossils at the science tables, ride some of the animatronic dinosaurs (always a highlight), meet baby dinosaurs during interactive shows, and burn off energy in the dinosaur-themed bounce houses.
There are also derby races where you can customize cars and race them down a 35-foot track, plus LEGO-themed play zones with glow bricks that light up under UV. It’s the kind of setup where you can easily spend a few hours without anyone getting bored.

A Raptor Training Experience
One of the cooler offerings is the raptor training experience – an interactive show where kids get to meet baby dinosaurs up close. Whether you’re into the science side of things or just want to see a baby Triceratops, it’s a solid addition to the lineup.
Perfect for All Ages
The organizers like to say this is for everyone from 3 to 103, and honestly, they’re not wrong. Whether you’re bringing toddlers who are just discovering dinosaurs or you’re an adult who never grew out of your Jurassic Park phase, there’s something here that’ll hit.
It’s one of those rare events that manages to be both nostalgic and genuinely engaging.

See you there!
Life-size dinosaurs, fossil digging, and rideable animatronics – this is the kind of weekend plan that actually delivers on the hype.
