Plant Power Meets Pink at San Diego’s Breast Cancer Rally
We’re turning North Park pink this September with the Let’s Beat Breast Cancer Rally, and you’re invited to join the beat! PlantDiego is hosting this event that’s all about kicking breast cancer to the curb with the power of plants.
At the North Park Mini Park, you’ll find a sea of pink-clad San Diegans, the rhythm of high school drumlines, and the scent of delicious vegan treats wafting through the air. It’s going to be an unforgettable day of community, awareness, and action.
From Yoga Mats to Drumsticks: A Rally for All
Bring the whole crew—we’ve got something for everyone. Start your day with some zen at the community yoga session. Then, get ready to make some noise with Drummers Without Borders.
The kids will love getting hands-on with the interactive drumming activities while you groove to the beats of Valhalla, Mission Bay, and Grossmont High School drumlines.
The fun doesn’t stop there. They’ve lined up some seriously inspiring speakers who know their stuff when it comes to plant-based living and beating breast cancer:
- Tracy Childs, the plant-based powerhouse behind PlantDiego
- Dr. Derek Kwan, bringing the medical know-how
- Lauray MacElhern from UCSD’s Centers for Integrative Health
- Nina Shantel, showing us how to rock a plant-based diet with Type 1 Diabetes
- Ric Rockenhull, a breast cancer survivor with a story to tell
- Noeva, bringing those cleansing yoga vibes
Join the Green Revolution Against Cancer
A plant-based diet isn’t just good for the planet—it’s a powerful ally in the fight against breast cancer. The CDC tells us that about 42,000 women and 500 men lose their lives to this disease each year in the US. And it hits our Black community even harder. But we’ve got the power to change those stats, one plant-based meal at a time.
See you there!
So, are you ready to rally? Grab your pink gear, bring your fighting spirit, and let’s make some noise, San Diego! Remember, this is more than just an event—it’s a movement. The Let’s Beat Breast Cancer Rally is your chance to be part of something bigger, to learn, to connect, and to make a real difference in our community.
Join us at North Park Mini Park on September 14.
