Lions Tigers & Bears Hosts Winter Livestream Fundraiser

Lions Tigers & Bears, Southern California‘s only accredited big cat and bear sanctuary, is hosting a Winter Livestream Fundraiser with a goal of raising $10,000 to support the animals and keep the place running.

Special guest host Alan Wray Tudyk will be part of the 5-6 hour online event streaming live on YouTube and Facebook. If you’ve ever wondered what it takes to run a sanctuary with over 60 big cats and bears, this is your chance to see it firsthand while helping out.

Why This Actually Matters

Running a 142-acre sanctuary isn’t cheap, and founder Bobbi Brink is pretty straightforward about it: “We pour our hearts into providing the best possible care for every animal here, but we can’t do it without community support. Whether you make a donation or just tune in for an hour or two, every bit helps us give these animals the second chance they deserve.”

Lions Tigers & Bears has been doing this since 2002 from their ranch in Alpine, and they’re accredited by both the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries and the American Sanctuary Association. That means they’re meeting serious standards for how they care for these animals – not just winging it.

We’re talking spacious natural habitats, expert veterinary care, and educational programs that actually teach people about the exotic animal trade rather than just showing off cool animals.

What You’ll See

The livestream is broken into hour-by-hour segments, so you can drop in whenever something catches your interest. It kicks off with Bobbi Brink introducing the sanctuary’s mission, then shifts into rescue and rehabilitation stories (plus a matching donor challenge gets announced).

Hour three takes you behind the scenes with the caretakers who work with the animals daily. Hour four spotlights the volunteers and donors who keep everything going. The final hour wraps up with veterinarian interviews and a final push to hit that $10K goal.

You don’t need to commit to the whole thing – watch for an hour during lunch, or have it on in the background while you’re working. It’s flexible.
