Eat Where Your Food Is Grown At The 2018 ‘Locavore 8.8’ Dinner Series With Dickinson Farm and Garden Kitchen
Dickinson Farm announced, “Locavore 8.8,” a culinary partnership with Chef Coral Strong of Garden Kitchen San Diego to host seasonal dinners.
“8.8” refers to the distance in yards from where the produce is grown on the farm to the table where it is served. It also refers to the distance, in miles, from the farm to Chef Coral’s restaurant, Garden Kitchen.
Stepheni Norton, founder of Dickinson Farm announced that no dinner will be the same as they flow from season to season. Chef Coral was one of the first chefs they partnered with.
Garden Kitchen’s changing menu and commitment to sourcing local organic produce, beer and wines with hormone and antibiotic-free meats have gained a loyal following.
At the first Locavore 8.8 dinner on March 4 from 4-8pm, guests will start at the farm for appetizers and refreshments while they pick some of the ingredients for their dinner. Then, they will travel 8.8 miles with their harvest to Garden Kitchen, where Chef Strong and her team will prepare a multi-course farm-to-table meal.
