The Long Story Short At Vino Carta
Vino Carta Solana Beach, a neighborhood wine shop and bar with a focus on small, family-run producers of natural wines made through organic and sustainable farming practices, is hosting several events throughout the winter to help locals stay warm during San Diego’s “cold” months.
The in-house chef team of Kelly and Elliott Townsend of Long Story Short presents their Sunday Supper Series on January 8, 15, and 29. The wine-pairing dinners always consist of ingredients sourced from local farms and what’s available seasonally.
Long Story Short January dinner themes
- January 8 theme is Italian Tratorria (no pasta)
- January 15 is Spanish Tapas
- January 29 is Pasta Night
February dates are to be announced.
Wine & Cheese Dinner
On Saturday, January 14, Chefs Kelly and Elliott are teaming up with Venissimo Cheese to host a Wine & Cheese Dinner. The evening features pairings of flavors between wine, food, and cheese.
Monday and Tuesday wine pairings
Every Monday and Tuesday it’s wine pairings with Megan Strom and Juan Gonzalez of Mesa Agricola, which offers an array of farm-to-table dishes featuring the best local produce and sustainably-produced meats and cheeses. Small bites and full meals are available.
Chef Juan’s culinary style has been influenced by the flavors of his home region Baja California, using the freshest seasonal produce grown in Southern California.
