Dive Into a Sea of Creativity at OMA’s Art After Dark
Oceanside Museum of Art (OMA) is gearing up to make waves with the return of its spectacular Art After Dark event. This year, the museum will transform into an underwater wonderland, inviting art enthusiasts and ocean lovers to plunge into a night of aquatic-inspired creativity and festivities.
Inspired by OMA’s upcoming PST.ART exhibition, “Transformative Currents: Art and Action in the Pacific Ocean,” this after-hours art party promises to be a celebration of both artistic expression and ocean sustainability.
Costume Contest: Where Art Meets Fashion
The heart of the event is an ocean-themed costume competition that’s sure to bring out the most imaginative and impressive creations. Halloween lovers, cosplayers, fashion mavens, and everyone in between are invited to showcase their artistic talents.
A panel of distinguished judges from the worlds of fashion and art will be on hand to award prizes in categories like the Museum Masterpiece Prize, the Theme Connection Prize, the Innovation Prize, and the Audience Favorite Prize.
A Night of Immersive Experiences
As you explore the “Transformative Currents” exhibition, you’ll find yourself surrounded by art that celebrates and contemplates our relationship with the Pacific Ocean.
The evening will pulse with the beats of a live DJ and band while award-winning food trucks serve up delectable bites. Premium cocktails will flow, and strategically placed selfie stations will allow everyone to capture their favorite moments alongside iconic art pieces.
For those seeking an extra-special experience, the VIP package offers front-row access to the costume show and a private lounge, providing an intimate setting to enjoy the evening’s festivities and get a sneak peek at the museum’s future plans.
Supporting Art and Ocean Conservation
This isn’t just a night of fun and fashion—it’s also an opportunity to support OMA’s mission and raise awareness about ocean sustainability.
