Oceanside Museum Of Art Hosts “Art After Dark” Event October 29th

Oceanside Museum of Art’s signature after-hours event, “Art After Dark”, returns this year on Saturday, October 29th.

Art After Dark: Metamorphosis will transform the museum into a creative hub full of awe-inspiring entertainment, live music, food trucks, spooky good libations, art-making activities, and more.

“We are so excited to have Art After Dark back on the calendar as the backdrop to our final 25th Anniversary event of the year after having to cancel it the last two years due to COVID-19,” says Maria Mingalone, Executive Director of Oceanside Museum of Art. “We are thrilled to invite audiences back to experience this sensational after-hours event filled with one-of-a-kind ‘art party’ experience of the year that many have been waiting for.”

Art After Dark: Metamorphosis

Attendees are encouraged to dress in costume to camouflage themselves as a work of art for the night. The evening will feature live music courtesy of DJ Grande, along with a special performance by award-winning Oceanside musician, Shane Hall.

Plus, the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, a leading-edge Order of queer and trans nuns, will be mingling and entertaining guests.

Additionally, the evening will feature a variety of interactive experiences, entertainment, and performances. Be dazzled by Grupo Folklorico Tapatio who will be performing traditional Mexican dances, freestyle street dancing by
Wild Nation and Friends, and get transported to the islands with Taupou Samoa Polynesian Dance Troupe.

Turn up the heat with a salsa dancing class led by the Fred Astaire Dance Studios. Get a glimpse into your future with tarot card reading by Crystal Daigle and have your aura captured by photographer Jeanie Albert of BeautifulBalance throughout the evening.

Attendees will also enjoy atmospheric light projections on an 8-foot butterfly photo booth by light show extraordinaire, Joe Wheaton, along with the artistic imagination of Dragon Knights Stilt Walkers with whimsical, oversized mechanical animals known as “Stilt Puppets” creating a colorful parade of surprises as they interact with attendees. Plus, explore your creativity with a Teeny Tiny art workshop hosted in one of the gallery spaces.

Remember the evening with an exclusive t-shirt designed by the famous illustrator, SCROJO, designed just for Art After Dark: Metamorphosis.
