Lederhosen is optional. A good attitude is not. The San Diego Oktoberfest Party Cruise is back for its fourth year, boarding the three-level William D. Evans sternwheeler for three hours on Mission Bay – beer in hand, brats within reach, and live music keeping the whole thing moving.

Three Levels of Boat, One Very Good Evening

The William D. Evans is a classic sternwheeler, and it turns out Oktoberfest translates well to open water. The cruise runs three hours on Mission Bay, giving you enough time to work through the food, find a spot with a view, and still make it to the dance floor before the night’s over. It’s 21+, which you probably already figured.

Brats, Giant Pretzels, and a Beer Stein Contest

The food situation covers the essentials: bratwurst station, giant pretzels with mustard dip and beer cheese, and a cash bar stocked with festive beers and cocktails. Once you’ve fueled up, the beer stein holding contest is exactly what it sounds like – and it’s harder than it looks after a couple of rounds.

There’s also a photo booth on board, because someone is going to want proof of whatever happens at the stein contest.
