Paddle Mission Bay After Dark at Nightmare on the Bay

Paddle Boarding SD is taking Mission Bay into the dark. Nightmare on the Bay is their biggest Halloween paddle yet, and it ends with glowing boards, a DJ on the water, and a bay full of costumed paddlers.

A Launch Timed to the Last of the Daylight

Everyone meets at Ski Beach and pushes off together, timed so the paddle out happens while the sun is still going down. By the time the group rendezvous with the pontoon, daylight is gone and the boards are doing the lighting.

This is the follow up to A Burn on the Bay, the paddle Paddle Boarding SD ran last month. Same water, darker version. Ski Beach gives the whole group a wide, flat launch point, which matters when a whole crowd of boards is trying to get off the sand at once.

DJ Sweenami is Playing From the Middle of the Bay

The floating party is back, and DJ Sweenami is running it from the pontoon. You paddle out, you raft up, and the music comes off the water instead of a stage.

Aquafire Tribe is on the schedule too, making things go bump in the night. More surprises and the charity partner are still to be announced.

Come as a Monster, or Something Completely Ridiculous

Costumes are highly encouraged, and so is decorating your board. Ghosts, monsters, and whatever ridiculous thing you can rig to a paddle board all count.

Bring lights. The better your board glows, the better the whole bay looks once the sun is down, and the easier it is to find your crew out there.

PFDs and a White Light Are Not Optional

This is a night paddle, so the safety rules carry real weight. Every paddler needs a PFD, and every board needs a visible white light after sunset.

Additional lighting on your board is strongly encouraged, both for visibility and because it is the entire point of the look. Paddle at your own risk.
