The Rosin Box Project Continues With “DEBUTS”
The Rosin Box Project’s 2024 Season: Exalt, continues with an evening of all new commissions from some of the most sought-after names in the industry with DEBUTS.
DEBUTS will feature new works from the internationally acclaimed choreographic duo FLOCK (Alice Klock and Florian Lochner) and 2023 Princess Grace Honoraria Emily Adams of Ballet West.
It will also showcase emerging choreographer Katie Spagnoletti and a new immersive creation from TRBP Artistic Director Carly Topazio.
DEBUTS will be presented at the California Center for the Arts, Escondido. “DEBUTS is a reflection of our commitment to innovation and excellence in dance,” said Carly Topazio, TRBP Artistic Director and Founder.

The Talent Behind “Debuts”
Emily Adams
Emily Adams is an acclaimed American ballet dancer and choreographer, serving as a Principal Artist at Ballet West since 2015.
Her notable achievements include participating in the New York Choreographic Institute, at the invitation of Peter Martins, the National Choreographers Initiative, and creating six ballets for Ballet West that have been incorporated into the company’s repertoire.
In 2017, she received the Utah Arts Festival’s Choreographic Commission.
Emily’s notable work includes “Earth Movements: A Symphony for Ballet,” created with Sibylle Szaggers Redford and composer Tim Janis for the 2019 UN 68th International NGO Conference, “IF THE BODY SPEAKS” at the Rose Wagner Theater, and Ghost at the Party for Richmond Ballet’s New Works Festival.
In July 2022 she received the prestigious Princess Grace Honoraria for Choreography. Emily’s new work will be accompanied by an original score from celebrated composer for film and ballet, Katy Jarzebowski.
Flock
FLOCK is a co-choreography German/American dance company founded in 2017 by Florian Lochner and Alice Klock. Alice Klock and Florian Lochner met while serving as dancers and Choreographic Fellows at Hubbard Street Dance Chicago.
In 2017, they created FLOCK, through which they perform their own work internationally and co-create new choreography for film and stage. Their most recent FLOCK productions include their touring shows “Familiar” and “Somewhere Between.”

In all of their work, they strive to bring artists and audiences together in environments that are open, dynamic, and based on joy.
FLOCK’s new work for TRBP will premiere with music by Michael Wall. Emerging talent Katie Spagnoletti, a TRBP Resident Artist, will also unveil her latest neoclassical creation, promising a bold new voice in contemporary ballet.
Additionally, you’ll experience the premiere of a daring, media-blending performance by Artistic Director Carly Topazio, which promises to redefine audience expectations with its immersive approach.

DEBUTS will take place on August 24 at 7:30 PM and August 25 at 6 PM at the California Center for the Arts, Escondido Center Theater. A virtual stream will be available on August 29 at 7 PM ( available for replay for 72 hours).
