San Diego Children’s Discovery Museum Hosts “Science & Engineering Night”
San Diego families are in for an exciting evening of discovery and fun at the San Diego Children’s Discovery Museum. The museum is hosting a special Science & Engineering Night that’s sure to spark curiosity in kids and adults alike.
A Night of Hands-on Learning
This after-hours event invites the whole family to dive into the world of STREAM (science, technology, reading, engineering, art, and math). Thanks to Saint-Gobain Solar Gard, the museum is opening its doors for an evening of interactive learning experiences designed for children ages four and up.
Why STREAM Matters
The museum believes in giving kids early exposure to STREAM education, especially since many schools have limited resources for hands-on activities in these areas.
Their programs and events are often a first introduction to science and engineering for many families, particularly those who might not have easy access to such opportunities.
What to Expect
Whitney Raser, Director of Education at the museum, is excited about what’s in store. “We’re all about creating real, hands-on experiences that make learning fun,” she says. “From robotics to nanoparticles, we’re covering a wide range of fascinating subjects.”
You can expect to explore the science of scent, dive into biology through art, and even try your hand at electrical engineering! The event will also feature a special dry ice presentation by the Science Guys of San Diego.
See you there!
The Science & Engineering Night is scheduled for Saturday, August 10, from 5 PM to 7:30 PM. Pre-registration is required, with tickets priced at $10 for members and $15 for non-members. Special discounts are available for military and veteran families, as well as EBT cardholders.
